From May 12 to 13, 2018, a team of four experts, appointed by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau, conducted an on-site inspection of A&F’s Testing Laboratory. The review was an on-site assessment following A&F’s application for laboratory accreditation and China Meteorology Accreditation (CMA) qualification. The review team was headed by CNAS Senior Review Expert Yang Xiaobing.

The review is based on the CNAS "Testing and Calibration Laboratory Capability Accreditation Guidelines" (CNAS-CL01:2006), CNAS "Testing and Calibration Laboratory Capability Accreditation Guidelines for Toys” (CNAS-CL17:2015) and the "Inspection Testing Organization Qualification Accreditation Guidelines" of 2016.  The inspection included a review of the laboratory’s quality management system and operational compliance, as well as the quality system documents and related records, a visit to the laboratory’s operational site, and verification of the equipment.

The review team concluded that the A&F Testing Laboratory meets all requirements and is able to operate effectively in terms of management system and quality assurance, meeting relevant requirements in terms of technical capabilities such as testing personnel, testing facilities, testing equipment and consumables, and testing methods. The team also provided general conclusions on the qualification of the on-site laboratory accreditation and qualification, and suggestions to further improve laboratory quality records, standardizing technical records and measuring calibration. The product range that passed the inspection includes toys and children's products, outdoor tents, textiles and films, sleeping bags and others.

The A&F Testing Laboratory will take this assessment as an opportunity to continue improving the company's quality management system and testing capabilities, while expanding its business scope.
